How to make template or stationary file

Formatting such as large text, underlining, outlining or colored background is required to aid visual discrimination especially to help

students with difficulty organizing their work as well as
students who are unable to write due to motor problems.

The Solution:

Creating stationary files- These are pre-formatted documents you can create that automatically open as an untitled document, while leaving the original document unchanged. Students can then complete their work in this stationary file and print their work. Following are a few types of stationary files that can be created for-

Custom paper headings; ie essays, quizzes etc
Worksheets. Each student must complete and save an own copy without changing the original.
Fill-in the blank worksheets with word banks; Use copy and paste feature to copy word to correct blank.

How to make a template or stationary file?

Following are easy guidelines to create a template or stationary file using two different programs

Making a stationary file using Mac:
Create document with

any customized features such as customised font size, background/text color etc
topic headings or
worksheet info.

Save file with name identifying the template info, saving it to your desktop.
Use the mouse and click once to select (highlight) the file on the desktop.
From the File menu, select Get Info.
A dialog box pops up with the name of the file. At the bottom of the box there is a box beside the word, Stationary. Check this box.

Alternatively you can Save As: Stationary file

Close the dialog box and you will notice that your file now looks like two pages. This indicates the file is now a stationary file.

2. Making a stationary file using WIN:

Create document with

any customized features such as customized font size, background/text color etc

Next, Save as Template file.
