Learn how to create
a shiny starburst effect in Photoshop.
Step 1
Open your canvas. Press D to set default foreground and background
colors. Fill canvas with black color. Duplicate the layer
Step 2
Select the gradient tool, drag the cursor from top to bottom
of the canvas, Your canvas has filled with a gradient.
Step 3
Click on Filter>Distort>Wave the Wave
window opens, give the settings as in the snapshot.
Step 4
Click on Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates.
The polar coordinates window appears, Follow the settings
as 100% and check the 'Rectangular to Polar'
option.
Step 5
Click on Image>Adjustments>Hue/ Saturation
and change the settings to : Hue - 180, Saturation - 30 and
Lightness - 0. Check the Colorize option
Step 6
Next click on Filter>Render>Lighting Effects
and only change the Light type to Omni the
rest settings leave it default.
Step 7
Here's the shiny star!
